Have these ready
- macOS 14 or newer
- Climbora for Mac installed
- An active Climbora account
Open Climbora for Mac
Launch the desktop app. In Settings, choose the option to connect your Climbora account. The app displays a short, one-time code.
Approve the device
In your browser, open Workspace → Connect desktop app, enter the eight-character code, and select Approve this Mac. Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once.
Grant macOS permissions
Allow Screen & System Audio Recording for calls running on the Mac and Microphone access for phone-speaker mode. If macOS requests it, fully quit and reopen Climbora after changing permission.
Choose Call on Mac
Use this mode for Zoom, Teams, Meet, FaceTime, Continuity Calls, and other audio playing on the Mac. It captures system audio before it reaches speakers or Bluetooth headphones.
Choose Phone speaker
Use this when the call remains on a physical phone. Put the phone on speaker near the Mac and confirm the microphone activity meter responds to the interviewer.
Start and verify
Begin listening before the conversation. Confirm the correct level meter moves, then use Test Mode or a spoken test question to verify transcription and guidance.
Stop or hide safely
Stop listening when the interview ends. Hiding the floating panel does not necessarily quit the menu-bar app; use Quit from its menu when you want the app fully closed.
Tips for a smoother experience
- ✓
A Bluetooth headset connected only to the phone cannot expose the remote caller’s audio to the Mac.
- ✓
After changing Bluetooth devices during a session, stop and restart so macOS adopts the new route.
- ✓
Never share a device-connection code with another person.
