Import a résumé from Google Drive

Pick one file at a time and review its text before it becomes career evidence.

Estimated time: 3–5 minutes
BEFORE YOU START

Have these ready

  • A résumé or cover letter stored in Google Drive
  • A signed-in Climbora workspace
01

Open Documents

From the workspace navigation, choose Documents. If the connection is not configured for your environment yet, Climbora says so instead of showing a dead button.

02

Connect Google Drive

Select Connect Google Drive. This is a separate authorisation from Google Calendar and the Gmail add-on, so connecting one never grants the others.

03

Review the permission

Climbora requests per-file Drive access. Google only reveals a file after you have chosen it in the picker, so Climbora cannot browse, search, or index your Drive.

04

Choose a file

Select Choose a file from Drive. Google's own picker opens. Pick one résumé, cover letter, or supported career document.

05

Check the preview

Climbora validates the file, extracts its text, and shows you a preview. Nothing has changed your career profile at this point.

06

Confirm the document

If the text looks right, choose Confirm this document. Your master résumé is never replaced automatically — you copy across only what you want.

07

Delete or disconnect

Delete copy removes Climbora's copy and leaves the Drive file untouched. Disconnecting offers two choices: keep your imported copies, or delete them at the same time.

GOOD TO KNOW

Tips for a smoother experience

  • Word (.docx) and plain-text files have their text extracted in full. PDF text cannot be read automatically yet, so Climbora asks you to import a .docx or paste the text instead.

  • Files are checked by their actual contents, not just their name — a renamed program or archive is refused even if it ends in .pdf.

  • Password-protected documents are refused. Remove the password and import again.

  • Files above 10 MB, empty files, and files whose contents do not match their type are rejected.

  • Climbora never modifies or deletes anything in your Google Drive.

  • Imported document text is treated as untrusted content, so instructions hidden inside a document are never acted on.
