Import a résumé from OneDrive

Pick one file from OneDrive and review its text before it becomes career evidence.

Estimated time: 3–5 minutes
BEFORE YOU START

Have these ready

  • A résumé or cover letter stored in OneDrive
  • A signed-in Climbora workspace
01

Open Documents

From the workspace navigation, choose Documents and find the OneDrive panel. If it is not configured for your environment yet, Climbora says so instead of showing a dead button.

02

Connect OneDrive

Select Connect OneDrive. This is a separate authorisation from Outlook Calendar and Outlook Mail, so connecting one never grants the others.

03

Understand the permission

Microsoft has no per-file permission like Google's. The narrowest option its official picker supports is read access to your files, so what you grant is broader than what Climbora uses. Climbora only ever downloads the single file you pick and never lists, searches, or indexes OneDrive.

04

Choose a file

Select Choose a file from OneDrive. Microsoft's own picker opens in a window. Pick one document.

05

Check the preview

Climbora validates the file, extracts its text, and shows a preview. Nothing has changed your career profile at this point.

06

Confirm the document

If the text is right, choose Confirm this document. Your master résumé is never replaced automatically.

07

Disconnect and revoke

Disconnecting deletes Climbora's stored tokens and offers to delete your imported copies. Microsoft provides no revocation endpoint, so finish by removing Climbora at account.live.com/consent/Manage.

GOOD TO KNOW

Tips for a smoother experience

  • Word (.docx) and plain-text files have their text extracted. PDF text cannot be read automatically yet, so Climbora asks you to import a .docx or paste the text instead.

  • Files are checked by their real contents, so a renamed program or archive is refused whatever its extension claims.

  • Password-protected and oversized files are refused, as are files whose contents contradict their type.

  • Climbora never modifies or deletes anything in your OneDrive.

  • Deleting a document in Climbora removes only Climbora's copy.
